Early Vintage Postcard Publishers:
Curt Teich - (Also called Curteich or CT of Chicago) - the most prolific publisher of vintage postcards (circa 1901 to the 1970s). Many of them do not have the Publishers name, though most have numbers which can be used to date the card. The company produced postcards in all styles with Blue-Sky cards being the most unusual and perhaps inspired by the success of the C U Williams Photoette Line of Vintage Postcards.
Kropp - Although this company had been publishing since the early 1900s, it really came into its own during the white border era and continued to flourish with Linen postcards.
Detroit Publishing - This company only published from about 1901-1914. The details aren't as finely detailed but are hailed as an example of great photography and put into the fine artwork of postcards. There is a government website that tracts all known "serial' numbers for these cards and also by title of postcard. The company was also called Detroit Photographic and its most famous lines are the Fred Harvey and Phostint Postcard lines.
Albertype and Rotograph - These companies produced handcolored postcards, as well as lithos and other styles.
Other prominent national Publishers of vintage postcards from this era were Illustrated Post Card Co., Tuck (lots of artistic cards), Bosselman, Souvenir Post Card Co., Leighton, and Valentine & Sons. The last three companies merged.
Chrome Era Postcard Publishers
Petley - Mainly published roadside motel and other postcards from Southwest states and especially sought after for vintage comic postcards.
Other leading publishers of this postcard era include: (many are still in existence): Dexter, Mike Roberts, etc.
